About Us
The Irish Social Policy Association was established in 1997 to provide a forum for the analysis, discussion and development of social policy in Ireland and Northern Ireland. The inspiration to form a cross-border association dedicated to social policy came from Dr Patricia Kennedy and Dr Nessa Winston from the Department of Social Policy and Social Work, University College Dublin.
The Association aims to broaden the debate on contemporary social policy issues by providing a forum for discussion that brings together professionals and non-professionals with an interest in social policy, including academics, policymakers, civil and public servants, employer and trade union organisations, and those working in the not-for-profit sector.
